If we compare the Bolly Stars and the Cricketers as per the public memory, then for sure the Bollywood Stars have a much higher place. The Brand Recall of Bollywood stars is much higher because some of their movies are forever in many a manner. On the other hand, most of the time Cricketers are rated as per the memory of their last five matches.
Another thing that comes into mind is that the durability aspect for movie stars are longer. This is a reasonable parameter to judge why almost all of the movie stars are endorsing one brand or other in comparison to just a handful of cricketers.

one of the reasons that bollywood stars are able to be endorsers for a longer period than cricketers because stars have a much larger screen space than players.
Also when it comes to cricket only a limited number of players can be in the squad,the replacement level is higher unless he is an outstanding player like Sachin.
even though there is stiff competition between stars no one replaces nobody.So the duration of stay in industry is longer.
Also there is the age factor which is low in players and high in stars.

The only Cricketers that have made it to a celeb status are Sachin, Dravid, Dhoni, Yuvraj, Sehwag. The number of ad offers they get depends on the way they perform. One good series and a player is flooded with offers.
But on the other hand, all the points that u made about Bolly stars being bigger celebs is true and these stars are not judged on the sole parameter i.e. performance.
