There has been an uproar among management graduates when a few IIM's decided to include IT Companies on Day Zero of their placement process. My first reaction was - Shocking! But, an introspection led me to believe that it is high time these IIM grads go to the IT sector and it also makes sense that the best guys in India go to jobs which require the best brains at this time. There should be strict measure taken to stop this sector from trembling as the major revenue of the nation comes from here.
Another good news came up today when IT giants TCS and Infosys ruled out retrenchment in the wake of the global financial crisis. These companies also clarified their positions and told the Karnataka Govt. that their recruitment will also continue. The growth in the IT sector has been stagnant at 28 % during the last 6 months, but a more accurate picture would be revealed by the end of the year.
Definitely, a good time for management graduates to consider the IT sector for a change.

The statements made by IT giants on job cut is just a safety-arch to show that they are not very much stirred by the market turmoil.Ask the employes what they are going through.Never the less giants of this sector TCS is planning to intake 30000-35000 new employes on payroll;same is the case with INFOSYS, planning 15000-20000 new employe this fiscal year.
I agree with you. See IT Companies work on the funda of "Talent Storage", that is why they are always in a hurry to come for recruitments first.
They take a majority of students so that their competitors are deprives of some talented blokes.
